A silk blouse you can put in the washing machine. That was the aim when Joanne Snodgrass launched Nouvelle in Palm Beach in 2013, and Silk95Five, her trademarked blend of 95% silk and 5% stretch, is how she got there.
The stretch matters more than it sounds. It lets a fitted shirt move with you, and the brand's own care advice is a delicate machine wash, inside out, then hang it up to dry. We carry it at Lonah in Westbourne mainly for the shirting: clean white blouses with open collars and a tie at the waist, with brighter colour when the season brings it.
Sizes run XS to L. Silk95Five suits anyone who wants to wear silk on an ordinary Tuesday and has given up on the dry cleaner.
