Hana San makes shirts and very little else. Carine Melkonian started the label in Marseille in 2016 around one piece of clothing, the women's shirt, and every design is still drawn there. We stock it at Lonah in Westbourne because the details reward a second look.
The Beatrix shows what we mean. Its collar is doubled, one laid over the other, and the cuffs open out just past the wrist. Other styles turn a stripe sideways on a pocket or add a matching scarf at the neck that you can knot, drape or leave off altogether.
Cotton twill, lyocell and fluid viscose make up most of the range. Expect crisp white, pale blue and graphic stripes, the colours that go straight under a knit in October and still look right in May.
Hana San cuts to French sizing and says its shirts run small. Every piece is listed here in UK sizes, and if you are between two, call us on 01202 540600 or come in and try both.
