  Hemisphere is a German womenswear label best known for cashmere knitwear. Alongside its knits it designs clothing in silk, linen and cotton, along with silk scarves, often in its own prints. It is stocked by independent boutiques and department stores in Europe.

• What does Hemisphere make?

  Knitwear first: cardigans, jumpers and roll necks in cashmere and fine wool blends. For spring and summer the range moves to printed silk blouses, trousers and skirts, linen dresses and separates, cotton tops and printed silk scarves.

• How do I care for silk clothing?

  Check the care label first, as many silk pieces are dry clean only. Where hand washing is allowed, use cool water and a detergent made for silk, do not wring, and dry flat or on a hanger out of direct sun. Iron on a low setting, on the reverse.
